Fishing

With a massive coastline spanning more that 5300 km in length from Namibia in the west, south to South Africa and all the way to Mozambique in the east, there is no surprise that the region is a fisherman's paradise. The coastal regions are graced by both the Atlantic and Indian oceans which offer the best of the east and the west when it comes to fishing.

One of the world's mecca's in terms of fishing, coastal South Africa has the second largest concentration of fish in the world. To excite you even more, our inland lakes and river are swarming with fish too. From fresh water to salt water fishing, we have it all. Interested in landing the big one? In South Africa, bigger is better and you will have the opportunity to show us what you've got, or caught to be more specific. Marlin, yellowfin tuna, humungous kawakawa, skipjack tuna, king mackerel, queenfish, kingfish, dorado and wahoo are ushered in along with the warm Agulhas current.

King Fish are flapping there fins all along the Skeleton Coast in Namibia. Deep see anglers are enthusiastic about their next big Marlin, Barracuda or Dorado off Maputaland or the Islands of Mozambique. Bass and Trout are found in the rivers of the Western Cape, South Africa.

Other excellent sights for fishing are the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe, Tiger and Bream fish are found in the Zambezi River, or why not fly fish in Dullstroom near Johannesburg. Fish may be abundant in southern Africa but you will soon realize that not only do we offer you the opportunity to tackle the next record catch, but you will do so amongst some of the most beautiful landscapes that only Africa has to offer.
